Hello Mephisto,
I am in the process of returning my recent purchase.
The shoes for me were very narrow fittingand even with or without my orthotics, my heel kept coming off at the back and overall the shoe is not a good fit for me.
Also, just for your information, the complimentary can of Mephisto Protector that you included with the purchase was loose in the box, cap broken and spray nozzle part off the can. This is how I found it when I opened the box. I would suggest putting that can in a separate plastic bag and padded well with bubble wrap.

I would have given these 5 stars except that they really fit more like an 8 than and 8.5, they are a little snug for me. Other than that, I am impressed by the quality of this shoe, especially after wearing out so many "minimalist" walking shoes, which simply do not hold up for more than a few months of daily walking. This is my first purchase of Mephisto shoes, and I will most definitely be buying more!
